Welcome

    Hi, and welcome to fashion mill. Some people would aim for a large goal statement here, but honestly, I'm just here to yap. Basically, there is no specific direction with the creation of this page (other than to talk about clothes). So, I should probably introduce myself.

   Hi, I'm Zev. I'm a design student and I love clothes. I wanted to create this blog as a place where I could go to talk about clothing, designs, and other related fields. What you'll soon learn about me (if anyone ever reads this - who knows) is that I like to talk, A LOT. I'll try to break things up a bit to make it easier to read, but yeah, I'm a talker. Basically, I needed a place where I could just shoot the shit about whatever is on my mind, so welcome to the unstructured mess. 

    Since I'm going to be running this page I might as well lay out a couple goals and interests. I'm currently an Industrial Design student, and I'm looking to get into the industry after I graduate college; however, I don't want this page to be about me in that way, so I will talk very little about my college and work experience - besides small updates if I please.

    Anyway, my goals:

        -Reduce my footprint, thrift more, upcycle more, slim my closet

        -Learn more about the creation of clothes, and make them myself

        -Develop my own brand, starting with a limited collection for my personal portfolio

        -Open a boutique and coffee shop (some day long from now)

    So there you have it, it's pretty simple. If you're someone who found this page and wants to stick around, please do, I'd love to have you. If you're here to hate, well I can't stop you but I don't really care. I'm hear to vent my thoughts on different things, and if thats your vibe, then welcome to fashion mill.

A Trend I Actually Like - Dabbling in Selvedge Denim

      In today's society, I feel we struggle through a mix of what we personally find "cool" and what society tells us we should like. And to be honest, that fucking sucks. Why can't we enjoy trends, try new things, and leave some stupid trends for dead along the way? Trends aren't bad, they just provide guidance on a mass scale, so the really important thing is wading through the slop to find things we really like. So what do I like?     Recently, I had the opportunity to travel to Japan for a study abroad program. Nothing too crazy, just a three week trip.
